Holidays, no time off for Property Managers
With Thanksgiving a week away, we all are starting to get
into that Holiday mood, which is not an easy thing to fight through. There is
still a little over a month until 2014 comes to an end and in my Business of
property Management in Orange County Ca. My business never shuts down for the
Holidays. In fact the Holiday time is when Tenants seem to find things that
they want fixed before company comes over.
I try and visit each property a couple of weeks Before the
Holidays start, to try and get ahead of the mad rush of repairs and of course
there is always the disappointed Tenant who does not get their request granted.
I find though, that Tenants appreciate my visit and I usually can correct most
of the problems they may have in a timely fashion. This visit that I make is
also a great time to check up on the smoke detectors and make sure they are in
operating condition.
These end of year visits are also a great time to talk to
Tenants who have their lease coming up for renewal and find out if they plan on staying, or if
they are thinking of leaving. Sometimes I can even find out what I need to do
to the property, that would make them renew their lease. I really want to keep
good tenants and will go out of my way to accommodate them if possible. This
also gives me a heads up to whether I need to start thinking about marketing the property for rent.
These end of year visits can be very helpful to a Property
Manager, and I always use them to my advantage and like I said before the
tenants do seem to appreciate my visit. Holiday time can get a little hectic for Property Managers, but if you use the time wisely, you can stay ahead of most problems and have a very happy Holiday season
