Is Black Friday’s Hey Day in the past?
Every year we hear so much about “Black
Friday” and in the last few years the sales start on Thanksgiving Night. But is
the Black Friday bloom off the rose.
The sales figures for Black Friday
were disappointing, so the experts say, Whatever that means, but to me it makes
sense. I personally would never get even close to a store on Thanksgiving or
the day after and I also get inundated with e-mails everyday from all the
stores letting me know about the sales they are having.
Those sales started
long before “Black Friday” and have continued since.
So to answer my question in the title
“Is Black Friday’s Hey Day in the Past? The answer is easy, YES! There is absolutely
no reason to get excited about the Black Friday Sales.
The on-line Shopping and
the on-line communication between the stores and the customers has crushed the
Black Friday mystique.
In my Business of Property Management
in Orange County Ca. I am always looking for ways to increase the communication
between myself and my clients and Tenants, I envy the way the stores have
created the line of communication with their customers. Customers now are tuned
in to the stores and what is going to happen with their products and service. There
is no more ambiguity and no more anxiety.
When I see people fighting in the
stores for a product, it has nothing to do for the most part with products being
hard to find, it has to do with the people acting like children.
My suggestion to the stores, Go back
to being closed on Thanksgiving and give your employees time with their
families. I really believe the people who are shopping on
Thanksgiving Day are people who just want to get away from their families, not people looking for great deals they can't get the next day!
