Living a Minimalist Life style
I was reading an interesting article
today on the Minimalist way of decorating our homes. What that means is not to
have a bunch of junk all over the place. The things that we put in our homes to
decorate collect all kinds of dust and also clutter our lives.
I am always fighting dust, I hate to
dust so when something is dusty I throw it out, but I am always amazed at how
much stuff accumulates on every table in the house. I clean the tables off, but
as the week goes on I just put things back on the tables. Why do I do that?
The Minimalist way of doing things
sounds so appealing, but how difficult is it. In my business of Property
Management in Orange County Ca. I am in many homes all the time, and I don’t
see too many Minimalist house holds out there, In fact most homes are like
mine, things on tables. Maybe it is just in the human DNA to take the easy way
out and not put things away.
The problem is not just the things we don’t put
away, but the things we use for decorations.
Every Nic Nac we put on our shelve
has to be cleaned or they will become a dusty mess. The less stuff we have, the
less work we will need have to clean. Also for those people who have allergies,
those Nic Nacs and all those fluffy pillows and beautiful Throw rugs collect
all kinds of dust and other allergens that can make you miserable.
The bottom line is, try to minimize
the stuff you have around your home. It will make you happy and healthy, but
also with cutting out the stuff, you will have less work to do cleaning, so you
will have more time to do things you enjoy.
