Can Cable and Satellite Companies
do what they want?
When your Tenant want to have
Cable or A Dish installed do they need to ask you?
The answer is yes, and you should
do the best you can to accommodate them, but you also need to set some rules. I
know the word rules sound harsh when it comes to Cable or a Dish, but you need
to let the Tenant know where the cables or dish can be installed.
The last thing you want is cables
running all over the inside or outside of your walls and if your rental property
is in a Home Owners Association then you have rules you must follow. Remember
the Cable company does not care, they want to make the sale. You have to make
sure the Tenant knows that you will not allow the property to be abused by
these companies and they will be held responsible.
The dish can bring its own
problems. Often the Dish will need to be on the roof to get the signal that it
needs, but remember anytime you breach the roofing material, you create a
potential for a leak and you also run the risk of losing your roof guarantee.
You should never let anyone walk on your roof and never let anyone put anything
on your roof. Let your Tenant know that they need to have the company find
another way other than your roof. The other thing is that when the Tenant moves
out, you need to make sure the dish is removed and any damage is repaired

in Anaheim Ca. I have never told a Tenant no, when I comes to installing cable
or a Dish, but I make sure it is done to my specifications. The companies will
work it out as long as you let them know what is expected of them. Remember,
they want to make the sale and will do everything they can to accommodate your
needs.
