Numbers VS Quality
I get so many sales calls on my cell phone every day and so
many of them are recordings and others are script people. Do these methods of
selling really work?
I can’t imagine buying something from a recording that just
called me out of the blue. In fact I don’t even know why people listen to the
recording. As soon as I hear the recording I just hang up and as far as script
readers, they are almost as bad. But the new trend seems to be the call that tries to
make you believe you have talked to them before and they are just following up.
Maybe this is for legal purposes or maybe it is a new trend, but it is very annoying
and I get angry that they are trying to use this method on me. I even see this
in e-mails where the subject line gives the RE: and tries to make it seem like
they are just responding back to me. Again, this only gets me annoyed and I hit
the delete button ASAP.
I have sympathy for sales people and give them the time to at
least let me know what they are selling, but if you call me and try to fool me
then I will not even give you 3 seconds before I hang up, and If I can’t
understand what you are saying, then forget it.

understand sales, because I do it one way or another every day and I have been
given hard times buy people, some in good fun and some have been disrespectful,
but when you are trying to sell someone on your service, you need to also give
them the respect they deserve and not just play the numbers game.
successful sales people create relationships with people and then those people
are clients for the long run, not just for a single transaction.
I heard a long time ago, that it takes 14 contacts with
someone before they will recall you and think about what you are selling. For
me as a Real Estate Broker who has knocked on many doors, I have seen firsthand
how hard it is for people to feel comfortable with me and how hard it is to win
them over and have them call me when they are ready to sell their home.
The one thing that makes it all worth it is when you do get
that call and the sale comes through, then knocking on those doors becomes much
