The excitement of a new deal
Whenever you start a new Escrow, the excitement is in the
air and both the buyer and the seller have high hopes that everything will go
well and for the most part it does, but as a Real Estate Broker that has been
in the business for many years now, I try and tamp down that enthusiasm as the
real work starts.
In my business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. I have
been through many transactions and the real stress begins once the Escrow
begins. I always tell people that the first 10 days of any transaction is the
most difficult and stressful. I once had a client that was told by their lender
that buying a home should not be a stressful act but a very smooth transaction.
Needless to say that lender refused in the end to give my clients a loan and we
had to go elsewhere, so much for a stress free transaction.
The reality is that, yes buying a home is a wonderful thing
to do, but the process is tedious and the stress can become hard to take at
times.
The home inspection and the appraisal are the two most difficult parts
of the transaction and once you get through those, then it just comes down to
finalizing the loan, and that can also be a chore but mostly paperwork if the
bulk of the work had been done properly.
I never want to be a kill joy but I also don’t want people
to go into a new deal and be surprised that things get difficult. The buyers
need to be tough and work their way through any problems and if they have that
mindset, then all will work out in the end.
