Are flowers enough?
Sunday of course is Mothers Day and if you did not know
that, you do now. You still have plenty of time to go out and find Mom a great
gift, the last thing you want to do is buy a bouquet of flowers at the side of
the road, but I will see many people especially men doing just that.
Mom will act as though she loves the flowers that still have
the smell of exhaust on them, but even if the flowers were from some expensive flower
shop, is that really the best gift for mom.
Yes Flowers can brighten a room,
but those cut flowers always remind me of places where I would rather stay away
from if you catch my drift. Why not buy mom some nice roses and also do something
else.
I don’t think crowding into a restaurant
with hundreds of other obligated people is a very nice way to honor mom and she
may not really need anything but why not take the time and cook a great meal
for Mothers day and not let Mom do anything but relax. I will bet that she will
love it and really appreciate the effort you will be making to make her a great
meal.
The flowers will die and any other piece of junk will fade away from
site eventually, but the memory of you making a meal for
her will last forever and you could even make it a Mother’s Day tradition.
In my business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. I hear
from Mothers all the time who rent my properties and how they really want to see
their children more and especially the Grandchildren. What a great way to spend
time with Mom or Grandma by creating a sort of Mothers Day banquet for either
brunch or dinner. For myself I am not a big brunch fan but love dinner and I
always cook for Mom.
We all remember a great meal or party so if we make Mothers
day an annual event, just think about the great memories you will have and
those memories, unlike the flowers will last forever and best of all Mom will
have a wonderful day and that’s what it is all about!
