Americans need to stop waiting in line
I find it hard to believe when I see people waiting in long
lines for something. Where do they get the time and why do they want to waist
their lives in line.
I try and think about what I would wait in line for and how
long I would be patient enough to wait. I think the drive through at IN N OUT Burger is the best I can do and at the worst,
it is about 20 Minutes.
What do people wait in line for, well, There is the new
Apple gadget, but if you just wait, you can get it on line in a few days or
maybe a week. Does getting it first really make that big of a difference. I
have become an on line shopper. I really only buy food in person, so there is
no need for me to even wait a few minutes in a check out line and for food
shopping, the store I go to has self checkout, so I have even solved the
waiting in the food line.
Waiting to get into a movie. Again with the big screen TV’s
we have you can wait a little while and see the movie in the comfort of your
own home and the popcorn is so much cheaper. Now I know that getting out of the
house is important, and if you are with someone you enjoy, then the
conversation you have waiting in the movie theater line can be enjoyable, so I
give a pass on that.
Putting your name on a waiting list to buy a home, don’t do
it and as a Realtor, I would never let my client enter into a situation where
they are waiting for something to happen to a deal that is in place so they can
have a chance to jump in. There are too many homes out there to look at and
unless the home you are looking to buy is a one and only and that is very
rare, never lock yourself or your client in emotionally to a home that has
already been taken. If it comes back on the market then you can jump on it.
Waiting in a line for
anything is a waist of your time and we only have so much time on this earth,
do you really want to waist your time and your emotions in any kind of line.
