Why is there concern about the Housing Market?
Every day we are bombarded with statistics, about jobs and
sales, and inventory and everything under the sun. But what do these statistics
really tell us as individuals? So much business information is confusing at
best and if you watch the stock market, bad news for the average person is good
news for the stocks. For example: if you just want to put your savings in the
bank and get a decent return on your money, it is not possible. Our government
decided a few years ago that the stock market is much more important than the
savers, so they started to give businesses money for very little cost and kept interest
rates very low. They basically forced people, if they want any return on their
money to put it in the equity market. Many people refused to do so and are
stuck with the almost nonexistent saving account return.
Any time the Federal Reserve threatens to raise interest
rated the stock market goes into a free fall. These traders and businesses are
addicted to cheap money at the expense of the average person. Wages are not
going up, and that is good news for traders also, they like the lower cost of
labor, again bad news for the average Joe is good news for the stock market.
Then they wonder why, with such low interests rates ,the Real Estate Market is
not going crazy, but to any casual observer, it is obvious that people are uneasy about their future, and when you are not comfortable with your future
earnings you are not going to go out and make that large purchase of a home.
They always talk about the jobs report and how many jobs are
created, but so many of these jobs are low wage and part time, and there are so
many people who have given up on even getting a job that the jobs report is not
a credible means of information.
Now for all those people who have given up,
get off the couch and do something. Once you give up, you have lost the game of
life. And for all those people getting rich in the stock market on the backs of
much of the country, congrats! You have done it again, with the help of the Government;
you have put another one over on the American people. What will happen when
this bubble bursts and how much more will it cost us!
