Lighting makes all the difference
Lights in a home can make a huge difference when it comes to
how your home is perceived. From the outside to the inside, proper lighting is
so important and many times it is not given enough thought.
Think about the effects lighting has on you. When you travel
at night and come to a city such as Los Vegas and as you come over the hill and
see the cascade of lights and how beautiful it looks and how it makes you feel,
well your home can have the same effect on you and others who see it.
Landscape lights serve a dual purpose, first the right
lighting can make your yard look wonderful and you can use certain lights to have
people focus on areas of the yard you want them to. I have a beautiful Olive
tree in the front yard and two LED lights, light it up from the bottom to the
top. The LED lights are bright and energy efficient and since I switched to
these spot lights, I have not only saved money on energy, but The light is so
much brighter than the old lights I had, that I only need 2 lights instead of
the 4 I used to have and the two LED lights do a much better job and give much
more light.
The second use for landscape lights is safety. The pathway lights
give lighting to walkways and also when your house has lights outside it is
safer as you can see what is going on and avoid any surprises.
The inside lighting is a little more complicated then the
outside. I do not like the LED lights on the inside. They are too bright and
the light is not conducive to my eyes. I like the soft light and in the kitchen,
you can get very creative and the Recessed lights are great but there are so many
options that you can spend days just looking at different combinations.
I am a
huge fan of the ceiling fan with lights and again there are many combinations
of light packages for you to choose from.
Sconces are also fun to use to light up walls and rooms and
I also like using lights with mirrors to give unusual and creative lighting to
rooms.
In my business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. I see how lighting
is used in many homes and some are good and some are not so good, but if you
take one room at a time, you can start to change your old lights in your home
to new and efficient lights that are available.
