How long can issues are studied
I have always been amazed at people who never get out of
school, they seem to take class after class and collect degrees like baseball
cards, but they never seem to do anything other than tell you how smart they
are. Many years ago I heard a basketball coach and I don’t remember who it was,
say that he would rather have a “C” student in a pressure situation because
they don’t think things to death, they react. Now I am paraphrasing, but the
truth of the matter is that sometimes over thinking something is worst then
reacting to the situation now.
Politicians do this all the time, they have hearings and
committees on all kinds of issues and they talk real big, but in the end,
nothing gets done. In real life, if you act like a politician you will also get
nothing done and people will lose respect for you. It reminds me of the
original movie “Ghostbusters” and in the movie, they were ready to get out of
school and get into the real world and that scared them.
Dealing with the real world can be scary, but should also be
embraced and if you want to be a leader in life, you need to always embrace
every situation and not side step hard issues and situations.
It always comes
back to how you remove a band aid from a cut on your arm. Do you take it off
slowly or do you just go for it and rip it off. I always found that ripping it
off was the best way to get it removed with the least amount of pain. It may
hurt for a second, but then it is over.
In my business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. I
rip many bandages off every day and it works best that way. Get the bad things out
of the way and then work on the good stuff.
There is more good stuff then bad,
so don’t make the bad stuff last too long and take away from the good stuff.
So when I see people who study issue over and over again, I
know that they are just trying to avoid making a decision. It takes very little
time to study anything unless we are talking about medical issues which many
times takes years, so do your investigations and make a decision.
