Are California Politicians trying to kill California?
There is a bill pending in the California State Senate that
will cut gasoline use in California by 50% in 15 years, but they don’t say how
they will do that. The people who run California have a dislike for gas powered
engines and there is a person who will get all the power if this bill passes to
regulate gas consumption in California.
Mary Nichols who is unelected, but she runs the Air
Resources Board and seems to have omnipotent power over the energy use in
California. The politicians that run California have a religious like zeal
about the climate and seem to have very little care about the damage they do to
the people who live in California.
Most people in California will never drive
a Tesla or be able to use public transportation. California is not built that
way and quite frankly we love our cars, and no matter what California does, it
will have no effect on the environment.
The gas powered automobile was the greatest gift to freedom
of movement that there has ever been. Being able to get into a car and drive to
the other side of town in minutes created the greatest boom for industry and
jobs and California is known for the love of their cars. Why the people of
California continue to elect people who seem to be doing everything they can to
destroy the middle class is beyond me. If people actually understood what a 50%
reduction in gasoline would mean to their lives they would never vote for it.
There
is only two ways to do it. One, raise the price of gas to a price that would
make it impossible for people to pay or to ration the gas people could buy.
What this would do to the economy of California would be devastating.
If gas prices go up, then people would stop doing other things in order to pay
for the gas to go to work. No more weekend outings, or going to restaurants, or vacations.
If gas is rationed, then the same outcome, people will not have the freedom of
movement and families, especially middle and low class families will be devastated
and forced to move out of the state.
The only people who are for this bill are the wealthy who
can afford a $140,000 Tesla and those same people will never be caught dead on
a bus. In Los Angeles, they are planning to take ½ of the lanes on major, very
busy streets and turn them into bike lanes. Are these people crazy?
When will the people of California wake up!
