Why I love a porch
Relaxing on a front porch is something that seems right out
of a Norman Rockwell painting, but for many people, a porch can be not only an area
for relaxation, but also an area that greets visitors with the owner’s sense of
style.
If you watch some old movies or TV shows you will see a
porch being used to relax with someone playing a Guitar or an old guy cutting
on a piece of wood, or a young man romancing his girl. All of these events I’m
sure go on every night and day, but for most people the porch is a place to
sit, relax, have a cup of coffee and greet people who have come to visit and the
look and feel of your porch can make a big difference with the first impression
people get of your home.
A welcoming front porch, will give people a feeling of ease
and comfort as they get ready to enter your home, but a dirty or dingy front
porch will give people a negative and stand offish feeling and that can make a
big difference in the way they feel when they enter your home.
The most important thing about a porch to me is that having an
area outside the home that is comfortable and a great place to get outside the
home and sit and relax. The porch can give you a view of what is going on in
the neighborhood, or a porch can be more private and not have any view at all.
Like I said, a porch is a great way for a person to show their personalities
and their creativity with the way they want to greet people who come to their
home.
