Bills
due in January
I dread the first of the year, it
seems as though every bill is due. My Real Estate fees are due, my bond for my
Contractors license is due, my auto club membership is due, and on and on.
I also had a root canal on January 2nd. There seems to be no end in sight. The Holidays brings great cheer, but once
the calendar clicks to the New Year, even though it is just another day, my
wallet becomes empty. It is a terrible feeling and frustrating. Then as the
first few months continue, the taxes are due, but this year since April 15th
falls on some kind of federal holiday, taxes aren’t due until the 18th, A reprieve!
I am not one who puts myself into debt
over Christmas, so I can only imagine the fear that many people have when those extra
bills come due also.
In my business of Property
Management, I always anticipate Tenants having some problem paying their rents
the first of the year and this year I have had to make a few phone calls
reminding those Tenants to send their rent. I do not want to add a late fee to
their other money issues so I call to push them and let them know if I receive
the rent ASAP, then I will waive the fee.
I never like to break life up into
years, for example, this year is good and that year is bad, but what I do know
is that the first few months of every year is very expensive.
