Why I rarely watch
sports Live anymore
I enjoy watching sports,
especially football, but I rarely watch any sporting event live other then the
Super Bowl. There are several reasons for that but none of the reasons have to do
with skipping the commercials.
Change of opinion
When I was younger, I
used to make fun of people who recorded sporting events and you could never
talk about a game, because they had not seen it yet and would get mad if you let
them know the outcome. I could not understand, because I thought, since the
game was over, what was the purpose of watching it even if you did not know
what happened. Now that person is me, except I don’t get upset if someone lets
me know what happened.
Reason One
The biggest reason I
record games now is for convenience. I don’t need to reschedule my day around a
game. I just watch when I feel like watching and I refuse to sit inside and
watch a game when the weather is so beautiful most of the time here in So Cal. Also In my business of Property Management in Orange County Ca. I may have to when a game is on, so recording the game allows me work and watch the game.
Reason Two
The next reason is I don’t
have to listen to the blather that is surrounded by the game. I used to hate
watching the Olympics because of all the stories that they tell about the
athletes. I just like the events. Football is surrounded by loud mouths that
laugh most of the time When they try and talk, so I can just press a button and skip
the halftime torture sessions. Baseball is so long that I find myself moving it
along or I will never make an entire game and Basketball is the same as
football. The ability to record has not only saved me time, but has made the events much more enjoyable.
You know its funny how we
change when we get older. I guess that’s because time becomes more precious and
wasting time is less desirable. I remember once when I was a boy the Dodgers
where going to be on TV and I was trying to get my Dad to come in the room
because he was going to miss the start of the game. I could not understand why
he was not as excited as I was. Now I understand, He was busy with Life.
