Photos, Photos and more Photos
I have made it clear that I am a big fan of photo’s and not
video’s for my listings and depending on the property, taking as many photo’s
as possible can be a great asset to getting your word out. How many of us have
pulled up a listing and we see one photo, usually of the front of the home, or
of a landscape and we say to ourselves, what is wrong with the rest of the
property?
No Toilet photos
For me and I am no expert on taking great pictures, and if you want some pointers on taking good phone pictures, here is an article on Hub Spot Marketing. I go
into a property and take usually 100 photo’s and then I start the process of
picking the best ones to publish. I never, unless it gets by my aging eyesight,
publish a picture of a Toilet. We all understand that bathrooms have toilets
and unless there is something very special about the toilet, I don’t need to
see it. I am amazed at how many toilets are memorized forever in photos. I
realize that some properties may not have much that stands out, but if you are
down to a toilet, then maybe the best photo is no photo.
A good picture can really catch the imagination of the
viewer and that can get them to want to see the property. Bad pictures can do
just the opposite and keep people away from a property. When I look at a photo
of a home, I want to be intrigued, almost like a good book that makes you want
to keep reading on to see what the end result is going to be.
Walk through Photos
I like to start the photos from the outside in and then back
outside. Think of publishing the photo’s as though you were the buyer or renter
and you were walking through the home. I call it "Walk Through Photos", The first thing you are going to see is
the outside of the home. You are going to see the outside of the home and then
you are going to enter the home. Take the photo’s as you normally would walk
through a home. That way when the people who view the photos actually go to the
home, it will feel familiar to them. The more photos’ you publish, the more
familiar the viewer will feel. You never know what the viewer is looking for,
so the more photos you take the better chance you will have to allow the viewer
to find something they want to see more of.
Using Pictures are the best way pique the interest of
potential renters or buyers, so publishing few pictures is a mistake. Just
like a good book makes you want to keep reading to find out the conclusion,,
you want the viewer of the photo to want to see more, and the way they get to
the conclusion is to visit the property, and that is the goal we all have
.
